Just after retiring from the military, Gendo Shugo finds himself in urgent need of money due to his family circumstances. He joins the virtual game “Melo World”, which promises real world profits earned fast. Inside Melo World, Shugo meets Himekawa Ayana, a popular streamer, and Morioka Hikaru, a wealthy player. The three form a party and begins to progress through the game. After playing the game for a bit, they start to feel that something about the game is off. As they dig deeper to uncover the truth behind Melo World, they make a shocking discovery.
